Pan America fuel pump issues?

Buddy of mine just mentioned his 2024 Pan America has this hole at the bottom of its fuel pump and says that its something about a spray protectant or something to prevent corrosion issues. I'm planning to buy the 2025 Pan America 1250 but I'm having a bit of trouble if this is a good purchase or decision, since I'm seeing this as a design flaw and some engineering mishap. Thoughts?

That's the hole for letting out air so there's no moisture buildup! You've got nothing to worry about. It's perfect for you if you got the love for adventure bikes anyway. It's still a good decision, nothing to think about that normal hole.
