why should spark plugs at 10thousand miles?

I have had my 2022 Pan America for two years now. It's really awesome, I love it like my own daughter haha

But the service says I need new spark plugs every 10,000 miles, plus a pricey checkup.

Is it just me, or does that seem way too often for a modern bike?

Has anyone actually seen their plugs after 10k miles? Is this really needed?

Haha, I get the "love it like a daughter" vibe! Harley recommends replacing spark plugs at 10k miles as part of regular maintenance. They might still look fine, but swapping them out helps keep the bike running smoothly. If you're unsure, you could always check them yourself first.

well yunno I get that 10k might feel a bit soon, but wild guess is that Harley is just playing it safe. I've seen a few pulled at that mileage and they weren't terrible, just a little worn. If the bike's running smooth and mileage is steady, you could probably stretch it a bit, you'll never know if you never try

I know a few guys who replaced their spark plug after hitting 15,000 but I could tell too that they're not doing a lot of hard riding. What I'm saying is that riding style and conditions, like if you consistently ride in very hot and dusty environments, can impact spark plug wear. For the pricey check-up, ask them what it includes. If it covers essential maintenance work like fluid checks, brake inspections and overall system diagnostics, then you'll have an idea if it's worth it!

This. it all depends on how often you use it and where you you use it. Pricey, i agree but like our daughters, we only want twhat's best for them
