New pan america problem

my 23yo son's got this weird problem with his pan america, and we're trying to figure it out.

He just took it in for its first service at the dealer, and on the way there, he had to slam on the brakes pretty hard in traffic.

When he did, the engine started to knock, and the oil light actually came on, though it went out pretty quickly right after.

He told the service department about it, and they did the service, but said they didn't notice anything during their test drive.

But then, a few days later, he did a brake check just to see, and boom, same thing happened.

The oil light popped on, the engine sputtered, and it just stalled out completely. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? We're trying to figure out what's going on!

Since it's the oil light that popped, go ahead and check the oil level first and then ask the dealer if there's a known issue with the baffling in the pan.

It could also be a problem with oil starvation from slosh or cloged pickup tube or it could be a sensor related issue. Now sure how's your mechanic skills, but can take of the pan and see if it's a problem. You can also test eh sensor or if you're notsure, you can take it to a shop.

Could it be a sensor glitch triggered by hard braking? Knowing if the oil pressure is actually dropping would help narrow it down.
