Cruise control lever replacement too expensive

I was just minding my own thing and probably got a little preoccupied... I didn't notice the pressure I was putting on my cruise control so it popped out LOL. Just the lever is effed up but the function is still there, the button for it wasn't touched at all, so I guess the lever is the only problem. But now. the dealer is telling me I have to pay 650 dollars to get it fixed? They will replace the module COMPLETELY when I keep telling them just the plastic lever is the problem? I'm not falling for that scam. That ain't even the upfront price.

What's an alternative for this? I'd like to know something cheap please. Can I DIY the lever on my own?

If your cruise control is still functioning and the issue is just with the lever, there's really no need to replace the entire module. You can likely find an aftermarket or even a used lever for a fraction of the cost. It's a straightforward swap if you're a bit handy, just make sure it fits your Pan America. Did the lever actually break or did it just pop loose from its mount?

Hate to break it to you but the dealer's ripping you off. That's too much. You just need to watch YouTube and you can totally do that free of charge except for the cost of the part.
