Clutch problem under load

On my 2022 Harley-Davidson Pan America, I was two up with my wife riding back from the Oregon coast and hit a slip shifting from 4th into 5th. I'm still learning how to maintain the bike myself, but I don't want to wear anything out by riding it like this. She's already worried about us taking longer trips if it's going to give us trouble. Do clutches on these bikes need early adjustments compared to other adventure bikes? Would it be smarter to have the dealer check it while it's still under warranty?

I have a 2023 Pan America and had a similar clutch slip on a desert ride with my brother. It was just a bit of freeplay at the lever. Quick fix, but it made a big difference. These bikes need clutch checks every 5000 miles, so since you're under warranty, I'd have the dealer take a look.

I'm almost at 5,000 miles, so I'll take it in while it's still under warranty. I've seen others mention early clutch adjustments, so it's good to hear this is pretty common. My wife thinks I should hold off on longer rides until it's checked, and I agree. Did your dealer do the clutch adjustment as part of regular service, or did you have to ask for it? I'm planning to get it looked at before next week.
